Our Boy Is 4!

Sawyer has been asking about when he will be four for about 6 months.  We told him the date of the big day and he has been asking if it is July 18th since then.  We were so excited to celebrate (and have him no longer ask the same question...again...) that we made big plans for the big day.  Well, Sawyer's birthday didn't turn out like we wanted it to, but he was happy all the same.  It started with us getting up early to go to 7 Peaks (a water park in Provo.)  The plan was to drop Scott off at school, go to Koren's for an hour, then we would all go to the water park, where Scott would meet us after his class.  Well right after we got back on the road from UVU, Sawyer threw up in the car.  Now, just so you know, he gets carsick very easily, so I figured that was just what had happened, so I pulled over and cleaned up and we went on down to Koren's.  I decided to stop and grab some breakfast, then I noticed we needed gas, by the time we got to Koren's, we barely had time to eat, then we needed to turn around and get back into the car.  Sawyer was feeling better so off we went.  We were almost to 7 Peaks, when Sawyer said that he was feeling sick again and he no longer wanted to go to the park.  I called Koren and told her the situation and we decided it would be better to just go home rather than risk him being sick in the water.  I called Scott to try to catch him before he got on the bus to come down to Provo.  Too late...he was already at the mall getting ready to get on the southbound bus, so he waited for us to come and pick him up there.  After we picked him up we started home, Sawyer promptly fell asleep, and we rolled into our garage about 3 hours after we had left that morning.  I still feel that he was car sick, but I'm glad that we didn't take the chance.  By the afternoon he was running around like nothing had happened and still wanted "white cake with red frosting."  The most exciting part of the day was that this was the birthday he finally blew out the candles!

He wanted me to put his piece of cake into a cupcake paper...

 Sister looks so thrilled...
FYI:  That night the boys had the following conversation:

Sawyer:  Daddy, when will I be 5?
Scott:  In one year.
Sawyer: On July 17th?
Scott: No, on July 18th.
Sawyer:  On July 18th...AGAIN!
Scott:  (laughing) Yeah, your birthday is always on July 18th.

We LOVE our 4 year old!

Our Trip to MI June/July 2012

We had a lot of fun showing off our newest family member to everyone in MI, especially Uncle Chris and Aunt Rachel, who hadn't seen her yet.  We did a lot of fun things and had a lot of firsts happen on this trip.  There are a lot of pics, but we WERE ther for 3 weeks!  One of the funniest things were the great sleeping pics that we were able to snap.
Ailynn was playing with some bracelets and got them both stuck on her arms.
We celebrated Chris and Rachel's birthdays by going to Golden Corral for dinner.

Chris and Rachel took Sawyer to Jungle Java to play a couple of times.  They all had fun, but I'm not sure who came home more tired...the kid or the adults...

We went CAMPING!!  It was so fun.  We were able to relax and get some good quality family time during this trip.  We didn't go far, but it was just the perfect trip.

Sawyer was a "rocker finder" and he spent the first day digging for rocks in the dirt.

Chris and Sawyer having some fun at sundown!
Ailynn all ready for the lake.
Rachel and Sawyer are good buds.
Look at those DIRTY feet!  Sawyer wore himself out almost every day.  I snapped this during one of the days where he put himself down for a nap.
Grammy and Ailynn reading.
On the last day of camping, Chris, Rachel, and Pop Pop were taking down the tent.  Sawyer decided it would be fun to jump on it as it was coming down and went face first into the ground.  He got his 1st bloody nose.
It was VERY hot, especially since my parents central air is on the fritz.  We spent the 4th of July relaxing and trying to stay cool.
"Shhh...don't tell brother I have his backpack..."  (Gotta love that innocent expression)

Another first is that Ailynn started rolling from her back to her front.  She is mobile now and her favorite spot was under the coffee table.
How can he sleep like that?

They crack each other up!
Our sweet angel.

Our last "first" that I have yet to get a good pic of is that Ailynn got her first two teeth!  Her smile is even cuter now...but you will just have to take my word for it until I can get it on camera.
